Terms of Service

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of DAX Trainer, including the public concept pages, account features, PBIX downloads, answer submissions, leaderboards, and admin tools. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

2. Educational Purpose

DAX Trainer provides educational Power BI DAX practice material. The app explains DAX concepts, provides practice workflows, offers downloadable PBIX starter files where available, and lets learners verify their results with numeric answers.

DAX Trainer does not provide professional consulting, certification, employment, financial, legal, or business advice. You are responsible for checking whether a technique, file, or result is suitable for your own use.

3. Accounts

• You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Do not share your password or use someone else's account without permission.
• We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service or violate these Terms.

4. Password Resets

If you request a password reset, DAX Trainer may send a one-hour reset link to the email address associated with your account. Keep reset links private. Anyone with access to a valid reset link may be able to change the account password.

5. PBIX Files and Power BI

Downloadable PBIX files are provided for practice. You are responsible for using Power BI, Power BI Desktop, Microsoft services, datasets, and any third-party tools under their own license terms.

• Do not upload PBIX files or images that you do not have permission to use.
• Do not include confidential, regulated, or sensitive personal data in practice files.
• Check downloaded files with your normal security tools before opening them.
• PBIX files may change, be corrected, or be removed as the course content improves.

6. Answer Verification and Progress

Some exercises require a numeric answer found only after completing the Power BI steps. A correct answer may mark a concept as understood, award points, and update leaderboard standings. We may correct answer keys, adjust scores, or remove suspicious attempts if needed to keep the learning experience fair.

7. Leaderboards

Leaderboards may show display names, countries, points, and completed concept counts. Do not choose a display name that includes private information, impersonates another person, or violates someone else's rights.

8. Admin and Freelancer Content

Admin users and freelancers may create exercise text, PBIX build instructions, answer keys, images, and downloadable files. Admin users are responsible for reviewing content before publishing it.

• Student-facing steps must not reveal the verification answer.
• Answer keys must be reproducible from the published PBIX workflow.
• Uploaded content must be lawful, accurate, and safe to distribute.
• AI-generated content must be reviewed by a human before publishing.

9. Acceptable Use

• Do not attack, scan, overload, scrape, or disrupt the service.
• Do not attempt to bypass authentication, admin checks, or answer validation.
• Do not upload malware, harmful files, or content that infringes rights.
• Do not use the service to harass others, misrepresent identity, or post unlawful content.
• Do not use automated systems in a way that harms reliability or fair leaderboard use.

10. Intellectual Property

DAX Trainer content, page design, exercise text, and original training material belong to the DAX Trainer operator or its licensors. You may use the materials for personal learning and practice. You may not resell, repackage, or redistribute substantial parts of the service without permission.

If you submit or upload content as an admin or freelancer, you confirm that you have the rights needed to use it in DAX Trainer and grant DAX Trainer permission to host, display, modify, and distribute it as part of the service.

11. Third-Party Services

DAX Trainer may rely on third-party services for hosting, databases, email delivery, source control, and Power BI file usage. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Availability and Changes

We may change, pause, or discontinue parts of the service at any time. We try to keep the platform reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent availability of every PBIX file, or error-free content.

13. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that every exercise, DAX formula, dataset, or PBIX file will be complete, accurate, compatible with every version of Power BI, or suitable for your specific purpose.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DAX Trainer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or loss caused by reliance on educational content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

15. Ending Your Use

You may stop using DAX Trainer at any time. You may also contact us to request account closure or deletion of personal data, subject to legal, security, backup, and legitimate operational retention needs.

16. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the app changes. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and provide reasonable notice through the app or by email.
